Make money from Solar PV
Our Sun Switch solar PV systems have different outputs and number of panels that are matched to your particular needs. All of them save money and carbon dioxide.
Once the system is installed you will receive an income for every unit of electricity the system generates and a little bit more for the electricity that you export. You will also save money on your electricity bill since you will not need to buy as much electricity from your energy supplier.
It's as simple as that! And both the solar PV panels and the income from the electricity your system generates are guaranteed for 25 years. All income is also index-linked for 25 years and tax free.
An example of a typical system:
-
A typical 2.1kWp system (10 panels). The savings you make on your electricity plus the feed-in tariff payment you will receive = £899 per year. This is about 8% return per year; or as it is tax free, around 13% for higher earners.
-
The tax-free profit that you will make over 25 years is £23,877.
The system will save you 995 kg of CO2 every year, and 24,875 kg of CO2 over 25 years.

The householder receives 3 separate benefits
Generation tariff: A fixed price for each unit of electricity generated by the system, whether used in the home, or exported. This price is guaranteed for 25 years and will rise with the rate of inflation each year. In this example this provides an income of £758 a year.
Export tariff: A fixed price for each unit of electricity generated by the system that is exported to the grid. This price is guaranteed for 25 years and again will rise with the rate of inflation each year. In this example, this provides an additional income of £27 a year.
Avoided costs: The savings from reducing the import of electricity by using the electricity generated by the solar PV system. This provides lower bills and the additional benefit of being partially protected from future price rises in electricity. In this example, this provides a saving of £114 a year.
